What is a Physician Assistant (PA)?
Physician assistants are health care professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. PAs provide patient care services including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, developing/ implementing comprehensive diagnostic and patient management plans, providing patient education and counseling, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing therapeutic procedures. Because of the close working relationship the PAs have with physicians, PAs are educated in the medical model designed to complement physician training. Our Physician Assistants are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and are board certified.
Is the charge for seeing a Physician Assistant (PA) the same as for seeing a physician?
Yes. The charge is based upon the service provided, not on the person providing it.
